I am planning an addition. The roof of the addition will shed away from the side of the house at 2:12. To do a cathederal ceiling, I will have to use 2x12 rafters to get R-38 w/ 1" vent channels between the rafters.
Is there a product or a detail that will allow me to vent at the high point of the addition roof (where the shed roof meets the wall of the house)? I would hope that there is a product available with a vent integrated into the flashing, but I haven't found it yet.
We will use the small ridge type MR. Siding is hardi-plank lap.
Thanks,
Jeff

Profiled vented closure strip is avaiable for the top of the sheet. Then you need to form a "L" shaped flashing with a minimum 6" leg ep the wall and 4" over the closure on the right roof angle and form a 1/2" kick down on a 45 degree on the lead edge to stiffen the flashing and act as a drip. The vertical wall leg will need to be tucked up under the siding and exterior wrap under siding. Make sure you provide intake vent at the eave and an underlayment under the roof covering.
