Want to get a metal roof on our new log home. There are 3 gable doormers pitch is 9/12 . Talking with contractors ther are telling me that their engineers are saying that there are to many valleys to guarantee a water tight home with metal. I'm interested in panels that look look like shakes. Currently we have our log purlins then1x6 tounge & groove a layer of tri-flex 30 then 2x8 stood on end 6" of insulation then a 2" air space 5/8 plywood. Ice and water shieldby grace everywhere and then titaniumUDL as an underlayment. Is this properfor a metal roof install?Live in northeast PA. Thank you

Hello. Thanks for your interest. This roof is fine for metal. The key is to choose a quality system and an experienced, competent installer. If you want a shake or shingle profile, use this website and contact the manufacturers of products you like. Inquire with them as to installers in your area. If there are a lot of trees in your area, you might ask how their valley systems handle tree leaves, pine needles, snow, etc. In some cases, they may offer two valley systems -- one for roofs subject to debris and one for "clean" roofs.
