I was wondering if trees(oaks) would have any affect on a metal roof I have some close to my house and with the acid in the trees would this pose a problem to the life of the roof would the manafactuer stand behind thier product?

I have never run across any problems particular to oaks and I am not aware of any roofing material warranties which have exclusions sourrounding oak trees.
Trees that give off a lot of sap, however, can have sap land on any roof and then that sap can attract dirt, causing a discolored appearance on the roof.
