I recently had a standing seam installed and have bowing between the panels. Contractor told me they can screw down. Manufacterer said not recommended because of potential leaks. Do I need to get the job redone or will screws work? any opinions would be appreciated.

The building code requires that all products terminating at the eave have a drip edge. Your roof appears not to have one and they just terminated the panel by using a caulking to seal it to the fascia metal. The industry norm for standing seam is to use a prefabricated drip edge similar to one used for asphalt shingles, where the top flange protudes out over the fascia and the metal roof sheets are then reverse bent 90 degrees over and up under with a hemming tool. This leaves a folded edge that is provides beter rust protection than a raw edge and will hold the panel flat at the eaves and resist wind uplift. Your detail needs to be corrected as water will run under the roof sheet uphill and through the cracked caulking.
