We have an older tin roof (guaranteed to be at least 50 yrs old, probably >60yrs).
It has some rust, more severe in some places than others. After we get as much rust off as we can, but before we paint with the aluminized coating, SHOULD WE USE A RUST NEUTRALIZER? If so, is there a particular brand / type recommended? Can it prevent the aluminized coating from sticking properly?
Thanks,
Clyde

Generally speaking the prep work is the key to a good paint job. This is a question to ask the paint manufacturer. Try Penn Paints as they have been making post coating paints for metal roofs for many years.
