We are experiencing some concerns regarding the installation of our new metal roof. Please look at the attached pictures and advise if this is standard practice. The roof is about half way completed and the work stopped 1.5 months ago and have not heard back from the company. I have alot more pictures of the roof but I can only attach one picture. Please let me know if you need to see more and how to get them to you, Thank you!

This is not a correct detail. First I recommend contacting the manufacturer of the producyt and get their installation instructions. Also look up their product approval which will state how it is to be applied to meet the building code. If the contactor has abandoned the work, that is not a good sign either. Again I would contact the manufacturer and get them to suggest another contractor with experience to review the work and recommend corrections. Also look at our find a contractor section on the web site and possibly you will find someone there.

Mr. Reid, Thank you for your input. The roofing supply company who the contractor got the material from has advised me they have not been paid and intent to lein my property. Your other suggestion about using your web site to find a contractor is how I selected the Roofer in the first place. He was recomenended by your association. If you can recomend someone else that would help. Thank you again.

First the association does not recommend contra`ctore however they must be sponsored by a manufacturer. I would ask that you email me directly the name of the contractor and the brand of roofing and I will forward to the executive director who will investigate. We certainly do not want experiences like this. Then from there possibly we can assist in encouraging the manufacture to get involved and assist in a resolve. Tag the subject in the email as MRA Find a contractor". [email protected]
