What speed screw gun do I need to install the self-drilling screws into the metal roof? Can you suggest any models? The roof will be a 36" flat seam over 7/16" OSB.

I am not familiar with the term flat seam. I am assuming you mean a low profiled vertical ribbed sheet similar to a 5V crimp. First is to make sure that you are using the right screws for a proper grip into OSB. Probably you need a #12 screw. Choose any screw gun that has the adjustable nose cone. It is important to not overtighten the screws as it distorts the rubber seal and can cause leaks. The pros prefer a higher speed such as 4500 RPM but they are skiled in the feel and know how to not overdrive the screw. You also want to ensure that you do not strip the grip into the OSB by overtightening as well. You may want a 2500 RPM gun.
