Hi, I was curious to get your thoughts on using R-Max insulation under the vertical panels? It seems to me as I am installing them that the screws don't seat properly unless there is A piece Z metal under every screw. Ridges,Hips,Valleys...Everywhere.
I am wondering if you know of any guidelines to install these types of roofs or are they as I suspect...Junk!?

Tyhe first place to look is to the manufacturer and ask for their recommendatios. The second place is look up to see if it has a product approval report such as an ICC-ER. This will indicate that the various assemblies have been tested and approved to tyhe building code. Next watch thatv yoy are not just buying utility grade metal and that it is designed for roofing not siding. having said all that the roof is only as good as the weakest link. Make sure that you have choosen the correct fastener for the job. Obviously a vertical panel laid directly over ridgid insulation is suseptable to overdriving of the fasteners.
