I've got a 38 year old house in Tustin, CA that has an aluminum roof. The structure of the roofing looks good but I can't stand the blueish faded color. I need help finding a contractor that will re-coat with one of the newer coatings. I've tried the "find a contractor" feature on this site without success. Any Ideas?
Thanks.

Any good professional painting contractor should be able to give you some options. If necessary, consult with a manufacturer of a product similar to what is on your house for the purpose of determining how to best walk on the roof.

The roof is shingle like in appearance, does dent when walked on in the middle of the shingle but holds up fine when walked on the seams. I've talked with several painting contractors (also getting the house painted) and none have any experience with metal roofs. I really don't know what to do next. Thanks.

Wow. Is Tustin in the Lake Shasta area?
General procedure would probably be to power was the roof, apply a quality primer and then a quality top coat. Sherwin Williams and other quality paint companies make some appropriate finishes.
There is a better finish you can use -- air-dry Kynar -- but it is very expensive (about $300 per gallon) and difficult to obtain as a homeowner.
If you like, send me some picture sof your roof and maybe I can provide some further advice. Just email direct to me at [email protected]
