There are metal roof systems that go down as low as 1/2" to 12" slope although they tend to be more commercial in nature and more money. Also if your roof is dead flat, it can be strapped to provide some slope. Check with our member manufacturers.

I also am wondering about using metal on a 1:12 slope. The redo is at the BOTTOM of a 3:12 but due to set-back limitations, it was only 9' wide. Keep the initial slope and there goes the headroom. ;)
BTW, the prior built-up FLAT roof definitely needs replacing.
Could some manufacturers simply be reluctant to "sanction" such a minor slope? I'm not seeing how the standing seam panels could leak with proper installation...
