Im a project manager for a Large residental Contractor in Northern Wisconsin. Before I get to detailed can one of you send me in the right direction for the proper installation, and material to be used for a standing seam metal roof ridge vent. I have a project that we are haveing alot of proplems with water leaking, and I feel that it is the metal roofers ridge vent that he has installed, which is causing a ventilation problem causing condisation on on the roof sheating. Thank You Crystal

Crystal, The manufacturer of the roofing really should have details for how to vent the ridge of their installations. Instructions will vary from product to product.

There are many methods of ridge vent but one is to use a vented closure strip (see www.profilevent.com) and then put a metal cap over it. If you like, email pictures of the job and ridge and I will try to help further. Todd [email protected]
