We have vertical seam metal roofing on our house. Is there any suggested maintenace required for the surface, or to the lag bolts and washers, or anything else over time? If so how often should an inspection be done and what maintenace is recommended. Also, what about any maintenace for vent stacks and skylight units through the metal roof structure? Any comments would be appreciated! thanks

IF installation has been correct, pretty much no routine maintenance is necessary. Are you having problems with the roof? Email me pictures if you'd like some more information. [email protected]

Thanks for your reply. No, there is no problem with the roof. Just wondered how often the roof, washers, and lag bolts needed to be inspected.

Certainly, there would be nothing wrong with doing an inspection every 2 - 3 years to make sure that a problem is not developing. In most cases, that problem would be related to an original installation workmanship problem but sometimes those issues can be hidden until down the road a few years. I would strongly suggest having the inspection done by an experienced metal roofing contractor.
