One of the most frequently asked questions we get here at the Metal Roofing Alliance is "Can you give me an estimate?" Your local MRA Member Contractor will be glad to help. Before he can give you a true estimate, he'll need to know two things:
The contractors you get in touch with can come to your home, inspect your current roof and give you an estimate (NOTE: Never attempt to climb up onto your roof yourself).
Ask the contractor you choose for several names and phone numbers of customers in your area, so you can see and hear about the contractor's work first-hand.
Make sure your contractor gives you a written estimate. Your estimate should include:
All materials, including flashing, trim and underlayment
Labor
Building Permits
Any tear-off, removal and disposal of waste and old roofing (if necessary)
An agreement that if the contractor runs into structural damage due to leaking, they will notify you before proceeding
Job completion date and schedule
Be sure the contractor you are working with is fully insured, and obtains the necessary building permits before beginning installation of your new metal roof.
The Metal Roofing Alliance is a consortium of metal roofing manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and contractors with the main goal of educating consumers about the many benefits of metal roofing.
